08:08 am - vivre pour ecrire

Selected excerpts from "The Arriviste", a strictly non-political novella by Alex Kazarez due out soon:

"Peace? We don't carry peace in here, such commodity is all too crumbly and perishable. Sad to say, the mere idea of maintaining adequate supplies of it is insanely cost-prohibitive."

"His co-workers didn't necessarily all vote for Bush, most of them just wanted to smoke and fuck it. Bush, that is."

07:43 am - Les sept enigmes du millenaire

The Clay Mathematics Institute of Cambridge, Massachusetts (CMI) offers a million dollar reward for the solution to each of the seven famous open questions in mathematics known as the Millenium Prize problems:

1. Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer Conjecture

2. Hodge Conjecture

3. Navier-Stokes Equations

4. P vs NP

5. Poincare Conjecture

6. Riemann Hypothesis

7. Yang-Mills Theory

I believe they should have come up with at least seven more theorems.
Why did they ignore such significant problems as the Collatz Conjecture or the ABC Conjecture
(as well as dozens of others listed on Wolfram Research website)?
Anyway, go sharpen your pencil..

09:43 pm - The Popularity Contest.

On my way home last night I saw a calling card laying on a sidewalk.
Later that evening, I found it in the pocket of my sweatshirt..
It turned out to be a $50 T-Mobile/VoiceStream EasySpeak prepaid card.
I believe in giving to people - just ask.

08:23 pm - it's a conspiracy, it's a goddamn conspiracy

yet another piece of writing
same thing, different day

To: Njoi Dashaw
From: Pheeten Healz

I wanted to let you know that I have withdrawn Alec Bestaev
from my Foot Fetish II (FFO 44) course. He is in danger of
receiving a D, or even an F. Though my instincts tell me that
he has a wonderful future ahead of him as a student here at
Worship College and elsewhere, this particular course proved a bit
overwhelming for him at this point in his studies. He had, I believe,
recently changed his program of study, and that may have had something
to do with his having signed up for a course whose demands he was not
yet prepared to meet. If I can be of any further help to you and Alec,
please let me know.

Collegially,
Pheeten

06:59 pm - ST1 on his majesty's secret service

A friend of mine is currently working on research related to
Sigmund Georgievich Rosenblum, alias Sidney George Reilly,
an enigmatic Russian-born chemist-turned-superspy,
credited with the inspiration for double-o seven character by Ian Fleming.
Over 200 MI5 files have been released to the public.
How does one get a hold of that info?

The above named individual has been advised to withdraw from the World Literature class due to the
improper course level placement. He's having a lot of difficulties and is facing an academic crisis.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail (dreamgirl@menopause.org),
or at my extension 07734.

i was gonna give the rest of the story away,
but then nixed that idea on the grounds of lack of therapeutic necessity ( :
